The Crime Investigation Department (CID) of Jharkhand on Wednesday arrested four accused in separate cases related to alleged irregularities in competitive examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC).
Two of the accused were arrested in connection with the JPSC competitive examination case, while two others were arrested in the JSSC Combined Graduate Level (JSSC-CGL) examination case. All four were produced before a court and sent to judicial custody, according to the CID.
In connection with CID police station Case No. 16/2026 related to the JPSC competitive examination, the agency arrested 29-year-old Hrithik Roshan, son of Sanjay Kumar Singh, a resident of Mango in Jamshedpur, and 32-year-old Pankaj Prashoon, son of Anil Kumar Singh, a resident of Sukhdeonagar in Ranchi.
According to the CID, both accused had allegedly been provided undue advantage in examinations by Sanjit Kumar, operator of Shivangan Ki Pathshala coaching centre in Lalpur, who was arrested earlier in the case.
In the JSSC-CGL case registered as CID police station Case No. 01/2025, the agency arrested Rajesh Prasad Yadav, son of Jagdish Yadav, a resident of Golwadha in Koderma, and Sandeep Kumar, son of Ramdev Singh, a resident of Purna Nagar in Koderma.
The CID alleged that the two accused had provided undue benefits to several candidates appearing for the JSSC-CGL examination.
The four accused were subsequently produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody. The CID said its investigation into alleged irregularities in competitive examinations is continuing and further action may follow based on the findings of the probe.
