Ranchi police on Tuesday arrested a former member of the People’s liberation Front of India (PlFI) from Muramu in Bero, about 32 km away from Ranchi. The arrested ultra, Soma Oraon, had defected from the outfit and started setting up his own gang to create terror in Bero and adjoining areas.
“We received inputs about his (Soma) movements and to verify that we formed a team of police under the command of DSP Bero. In the course of verification we arrested him (Soma),” said Ranchi SSP, Prabhat Kumar.
Police recovered one country made .315 pistol and two live cartridges from Oraon who is named accused in four cases of murder. Oraon had killed three boys in Masu village in April and was also involved in killing one person in Jaria village, said the SSP.
