The first-ever Yatri Ticket Suvidha Kendra between Jharkhand, Bihar and West Bengal was inaugurated at Golden Peacock Travels in lake Road on Sunday.
This ticket reservation centre, operating on PPP mode, will merge the best experience of online railway ticketing services and conventional railway ticket reservation counters.
Here at the YTSK, railway passengers can get reserved ticket for all classes of trains as well as unreserved and general tickets, by paying the fare and additional surcharge on the ticket as decided by Indian Railways.
“Not all passengers are tech-savvy enough to reserve tickets from the IRCTC website, but YTSK will bring the comfort of e-ticketing services to them. In case of unavailability of tickets, the staff present here will advise the customers about other available options too,” stated Deepak Kashyap, Divisional Railway Manager, Ranchi, while inaugurating the centre.
He continued, “We are planning to open similar centres near locations with high footfall of visitors from various parts of Jharkhand and other states, like RIMS, for instance.”
The scope of discrepancies in these centres has also been limited by Railways, informed the DRM.
“The software being used for booking tickets has been developed entirely by the Railways Department in order to prevent irregularities on part of the vendor. We also have taken a security deposit of Rs 10 lakhs from them as a deterrent,” mentioned Kashyap.
