First-timers vote for honest leader

Published on:

City denizens, who cast their vote for the first time in the assembly’s third polling phase on Tuesday, want an honest leader who listens to all after becoming a legislator. They want someone whose ‘actions speak louder than words’. The Pioneer had a chit-chat some first timer voters in the booths of Ranchi, Hatia and Kanke constituencies and took their views on diverse areas.

Every vote counts. I voted for a leader who thinks for the welfare of each resident. Security for all should be the prime concern of that leader. Water and power supplies must be regulated. Streets should be clean. RMC has kept small pink coloured dustbins at a distance of 50 feet across the city but the wastes from the bins are not collected

regularly.

A leader aiming to develop youth-oriented works is required in Hatia constituency. I hope a new government will definitely put efforts in creating opportunities for the youngsters. There are very few higher education institutions in our constituency. Youngsters unable to get admission in colleges of Ranchi constituency have to go out of the state capital to pursue further studies. Good colleges at Hatia constituency are also needed.

I was unable to get my voter ID card due to errors in my name and address. At this age, I am voting with the hope that my colony develops and incidents of crime are reduced. The city is still not safe for girls at night. Those who return home late from work or tuition have to be accompanied with their family members. The representative of our assembly segment must ensure a peaceful atmosphere for all.

Every candidate visits our door steps for vote but, when we visit for help at the same candidate’s doors, they either ignore us or say it is not possible for them to help us. It is high time, leaders should change their mindset. We need a leader having the guts to serve both poor and rich residents.

I am feeling good and hope the candidate who becomes our MlA helps in reducing the prices of lPG, vegetables, grocery, kerosene oil and clothes. We, homemakers, have to think twice before spending a penny. Now, when intellectuals and social activists are in the fray, we can hope of a better future of the society.

I do not have any good or bad feelings after casting my first vote. I came here just to exercise my constitutional right. Whoever, wins will do nothing for the sake of the society. All of them are same. They will vanish in terms of public-service after the results of elections are declared.

The elected leader should create employment opportunities for the youngsters.  The three prominent constituencies namely Ranchi, Kanke and Hatia have least job opportunities. Also, I feel corruption should end. It has spoiled the political environment of the state.
