First ever live retinal surgery was performed at Kashyap Memorial Eye hospital in-front of young doctors who participated in the two day vitreo-retina conference on Monday.
On this occasion, 25 without suture vitreo-retina surgery (7500 cuts/sec) were done at world’s largest and fastest constellation machine.largest non-contact wide angle microscope was also used in the process.
The operation was conducted by Bihar- Jharkhand’s first Vitreo-retina surgery specialist Dr BP Kashyap, Dr Kamal Kishore from Illinois Retina Institute USA, Dr Pradeep Venketesh from AIIMS and Dr Chirag Bhatt. Karlus Marandi, Md Ehsaas Khan, Kunju Karmanali and Md Javed Akthar were operated at this event.
