A major fire broke out at Sadar Hospital Bokaro. It created huge loss to the hospital and hindered many work. According to the Singh District Civil Surgeon, SBP Singh, short circuit is the reason behind the fire which caused an estimated loss of Rs4.51 lakhs.
"Fire completely destroyed electric junction box which was directly connected to the electric pole", he added. The newly constructed hospital was inaugurated 16 months before on November 1, 2013 by then State Health Minister Rajendra Prasad Singh and yet to get legal electricity connection. This hospital was erected with an estimated expenditure of Rs10crore.
