An 18-year old girl was allegedly raped by surrendered former Maoist in Palhe village on Saturday evening . The crime took place when the girl was in her house alone. According to the rape survivor, Co-villager former Maoist Bhanu Singh Kharwar and his associate Sushil Korwa reached her house in the evening and forcibly took her to a mustard field location in the neighbourhood, after gagging her mouth.
After the incident, she somehow reached home and the matter was reported to his family . On the basis of the victim's complaint, police registered a case against Bhanu and his associate Sushil on January 02.
Police recorded the statement under section 164 before the medical examination of the victim.
Police said that there are dozens of criminal cases registered against former Maoist Bhanu in various police stations in the past. After he surrendered in 2016, he had also got all the facilities under the surrender policy of the government.
