The Cabinet Minister for Energy, Rajinder Singh, inaugurated the connection of Palamu to Hatia Grid on Thursday. The Minister inaugurated first the transmission line between Daltonganj and latehar and then buttoned the sub-station of power here at Sudna.
However, the commoners know that it was the BJP-led NDA Government that had initiated this Hatia Grid connection but the project got delayed for more than four years. The locals disrupted the work of erection of towers. The Naxals took their pie from the site of work. Towers erected were brought down. There were all kind of hindrances caused to this project.
However, on Thursday Palamu was linked to Hatia Grid and the Congress leadership took all the credit for it. The Daltonganj Congress MlA KN Tripathy lauded the efforts of the Government.
JSEB chairman SN Verma and principal secretary electricity department Bimalkirti Singh were with the Minister here.
Palamu’s requirement of power is 60 MW and with this connectivity to Hatia Grid Palamu’s power position is all set to improve much assured the DC Palamu Manoj Kumar who said the need of the hour now is to go for replacement of all old, torn and poor over head electricity wires.
