A team of as many as 25 actors and 8 to 10 children are shooting a film on a hard core former naxal Kameshwar Baitha here in Palamu.
Michael J D Mackson is the producer cum director of this film titled 'lal Teer', which is being made in Bhojpuri of duration of less than 3 hours. The film will depict the life and character of Baitha, once a the most feared naxal in the two states Jharkhand and Bihar, but later on shunned extremism and became member of lok Sabha by winning Palamu seat. Mackson said, "This film will open eyes of many as to how a simple man of a village turns to extremism and once he becomes an extremist the world begins to fear or respect him."
He said there are many misgivings about extremist as people think their lives are cozy and they roll in easy money. The leaf of life of Baitha is a sad tale of extreme sufferings, hardships and deprivation.
Surender Vishwakarma will play Baitha in the film while Vijay Bawali will play the role of his brother Sanjay Baitha, the master strategist who had great political acumen.
Although the film is first made in Bhojpuri its dubbing will be done in Hindi, Bengali and a few South Indian languages, said Mackson. Damodar Rao will give the background music.
At the end of the film Baitha will appear on the silver screen as a civil society activist urging people that gun is not a solution to any crisis.
Bawali and Mackson had extreme admiration and praise for the young civil society activist Abhimanyu Singh for his most valued co operation in the shooting of this film.
The first shoot of this film has been done at Dhachhabar under Pandu block where the ancestral house of Baitha was dynamited by the Maoists for his joining the parliamentary politics. Baitha's first school in his village too will be shot for the film.
Mackson said the film will also depict how a house wife of a naxal takes care of the house, family and children when her husband is on the run in the jungles. Bawali and Mackson said the film is no fiction but a hard core reality revolving round the life and time of a former naxalite.
Asked about financing of the movie, they said, "It's our money. Abhimanyu Bhaiyya ( Bablu ji) helps us like anything." The team of Mackson and Bawali is determined to complete this film at the shortest possible time.
