Former Union Minister and senior Congress leader Subodh kant Sahay today said, “West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has accused the Centre of ‘Hatching conspiracies’ to pull down the governments in opposition ruled states by employing federal agencies and money power.”
Sahay came out strongly in support of West Bengal CM and said that the struggle for Independence against the British rule by leaders like Gandhi Ji, Vallabhbhai Patel and Subhash Chandra Bose would go in vain if the federal structure was undermined in this manner.
He asked, "Why should Gujarat govern all states? We won't tolerate this 'sibling rule' (Narendra Modi and Amit Shah). What was the need for a federal structure if the sinister objective was to impose one nation one party system?"
“When the country was busy fighting the pandemic, BJP was attempting to create political turmoil in Rajasthan and West Bengal in order to divert public attention from its failures on all fronts," said Sahay in a scathing attack on the Central Government.
