Fearing poor results teen commits suicide in Bokaro

A teenager allegedly committed suicide feared over his poor result score in CBSE class 10 exams under Chas police station last night. The class 10 result was declared on Wednesday afternoon. According to the police, Rudra Pratap Singh son of Ritu Rani Singh, a BJP leader, hanged himself at his residence last night. He was a student of Class 10, and the result was awaited. At the time of the incident, Rudra was alone at home as his parents were gone to his grandmother’s house, said Amitabh Rai OC of Chas police station.

When the parents of the boy returned home, they found that door closed from inside and Rudra was not responding despite a repeated call. Later, with the help of neighbors, they broke the door and found him hanging from the ceiling. They immediately took him to the Bokaro General Hospital (BGH) where doctors declared Rudra dead, said OC. Prima-facie it seems to be a case of suicide, though we are investigating it from other angles too. The body has been sent for post-mortem and a UD case has been registered, said OC.
