A 35 year-old man Hari Mahto was beaten to death by his father Rameshwar Mahto over a family dispute lingering for quite some time between them .The incident took place in Tilaya village under Mufasil police station falling in Giridih district here on Thursday morning.
Police sources said that the incident took place after a heated argument started between father and son over some old property dispute in the family .
The argument in due course took an ugly turn as father Rameshwar Mahto started beating his son Hari Mahto by a traditional weapon, seriously injuring him. Hari Mahto was later taken to the local hospital where he succumbed to injuries.
During the clash the victim’s mother Samari Devi also got injured. Rameshwar Mahto was learnt to be suffering from serious head injury while mother Samari Devi has sustained injuries of the knee.
On getting information, the local police in charge of Mufasil police station RK Rana reached the spot and started the investigations. A pall of gloom descended over the village as the news about the shocking incident spread.
According to eyewitness, a heated argument started between both and they suddenly attacked on each other with a traditional weapon. Hari Mahto son of Rameshwar Mahto got serious injuries during the course of the clash.
Hari was later taken to the hospital in critical condition where he succumbed to his injuries.The villagers, however termed the murder as a family dispute, some said Hari Mahto was suffering from mental problem.
