CM Raghubar Das has urged farmers to keep their cool and not to get distressed as welfare of farming community remained topmost priority of Government. Repeating his commitment for the farmers and agriculture on Wednesday, Das said that the Government was well equipped to sort out all problems before farmer community.

“Government is committed for well-being of farming community. I want to assure them of all support from Government,” said Das. He also encouraged farmer community to come up with any of their problems on dedicated helpline which had helped over 600 farmers in distress just in four days.

Agriculture Secretary Pooja Singhal said that Mukhya Mantri Kisan Helpline was gaining momentum, as farmers from all over the State were coming up with their problems on the helpline. “Enquiries regarding soil testing, pests, fertilizers and insurance have been observed been made on the helpline, which have been resolved. The problem of non availability of fertilizers of Yugendra  Muchwa of Sonahatu and Suresh Bauri of Kundalhit, Jamtara was sorted in 24 hours. Singhal said that a farmer can register his problems/grievances round the clock on 0651-2490542 and mobile no. 7632996429. Farmers will be given advice on these numbers,” said Singhal.

She added that 32 farmers had been made to fill application form for seeds, 53 for Kisan Rupay Card, 20 for fertilizers and a number of farmers for Fasal Beema.

Meanwhile, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Department Minister Randheer Singh on Wednesday announced probe in duplicate seed cases and said after departmental review meeting that licenses of at least 350 seed sellers out of 758 wholesale and 250 retail licensed seed sellers had been cancelled after then SDO Bhor Singh Yadav conducted raids on duplicate seed sellers. At the same time, he said that detailed investigation of farmers’ suicide cases were on and only final report could reveal why they were compelled to commit suicide.

Singh added that the Government had given Rs 2 crores to each to every district for taking care of farmers affected by heavy rain this week so far. He directed officials to distribute a pair of farm ox to some 30,000 BPl farmers in State. However, he declined any possibilities of waiving farmer’s loan off in the wake of heavy rain and loses to farmers.

Singh said that farm loan were being provided at 6 percent off in State apart from bringing 30 lakh targeted farmers into crop insurance net by end of this month, in which 12 lakh were already been provided insurance.
