Farmers’ feedback crucial for party manifesto: Virendra Singh

In order to take farmers’ suggestions and their views on the policies of the ruling  BJP, the party today held an interactive session with farmers here.

The programme christened as ‘Kisan Ki Maan Ki Baat, Modiji Ke Saath’ was an interactive session through which the BJP Kisan Morcha collected feedback from farmers. The feedback collected from the farmers will be incorporated in the Sankalp Patra (vision document) of the party ahead of upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Around 250 progressive and innovative farmers had gathered at the one-day session, which was addressed by BJP Kishan Morcha national president and party Bhadohi (Uttar Pradesh), Virendra Singh Mast.

Mast said, “The focus of the function was to seek feedback of farmers in connection with agriculture. We highlighted the various schemes launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi Government for the benefits of farmers at the same time we collected feedback from farmers what further steps can be taken for the benefits of farmers.”

Mast said, “The agriculturalists who participated at the function were happy with the various schemes launched by Modi Government. The launch of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme which is income supports of `6,000 per year (in three equal installments) to farmers was hailed by participating farmers.”

“The farmers welcome the scheme claiming that it will be much supportive to marginal and small farmers and appreciated the effort that first installment of `2,000 has been credited in the farmer’s accounts,” added Mast.

Mast claimed that on the instructions of BJP national president, Amit Shah this is for the first time any political party in country is seeking feedback from various section of society farmers, labourers, students and youth for preparing their vision document which is party Sankalp Patra. The party will go to polls in upcoming general elections with the said vision documents.

The BJP Kishan Morcha president equated Amit Shah’s initiative with Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s vision. Mast said, “During Independence movement Netaji gave the call ‘Tum Mujhe Khoon Do, Main Tumhe Azadi Doonga’ which was an attempt by Bose to larger inclusion of people in freedom movement. Amit Shah with the vision has invited people to give their feedback in making Sankalp Patra for better governance.”

On February 3, BJP national president Amit Shah launched the drive to seek suggestions directly from people to prepare its ‘Sankalp Patra’ which is party vision document or election manifesto for the 2019 election through a month-long campaign across the country.

Party sources said that the party new exercise is aimed at democratising the process of preparing the manifesto and would involve the common people in deciding the framework of ‘New India’ they want. Jyotishwar Singh, State BJP Kishan Morcha president said, “The interactive session with farmers was very much fruitful as many farmers gave valuable suggestions.

Some farmers from Palamu district gave suggestions for inclusion of Lah (a type of plant grown in Palamu region) in list of agriculture products.” Jyotishwar Singh said that many farmers also suggested for inclusion of work being carried out in Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Gurantee Act (MGNREGA) in agriculture activities for benefits of farmers.
