A farmer of Maranghada village of Khunti district was killed in rapid firing. The name of the deceased is Chamra Munda. The incident took place when Chamra Munda was returning home late evening after working from the farm. As soon as he came towards the road, unknown criminals fired indiscriminately on him.
Maranghada police reached the spot late in the evening and sent the injured to Sadar Hospital. Chamra was referred to RIMS from there in a critical condition. He died of treatment in RIMS. The criminals shot six bullets at the farmer. Police have recovered one bullet and three kiosks from the spot. Chamra Munda's house is about 300 meters away from the place where the incident took place.
Pinky Bobby, the pregnant wife of Munda, was waiting for her husband's arrival at home. When the wife came out after hearing the gunshots, the criminals had fled. The murder has been confirmed by the Maranghada police. Pinky Bobby informed that she was waiting for her husband. She had seen four-five people standing at some distance from the house. At that time she could not guess that they had come to kill her husband. She said the police that when she came out after hearing the sound of the bullet, she saw that her husband was lying injured on the ground.
Currently the police is probing the matter and raids are being conducted to arrest the killers.
