State headquarters of Jharkhand BJP on Friday witnessed an embarrassing situation when wife and daughter of party’s Kanke MLA Samari Lal (57) reached at the party office to seek intervention of the party in their family issues.
It was getting around 11 PM AM Friday when MLA’s wife Anita and daughter Soni and few others arrived at the party office. They insisted on meeting senior party leaders alleging that they are always assaulted and insulted by MLA.
They said that Samari Lal threatens to kill them if they dare to raise their voice against him. They said that they had gone to Bariatu police station to lodge a police complaint against him. But, they had to return empty handed.
At the party office they met some of the party leaders and demanded the party to suspend his membership from the party.His wife is a fourth grade employee at the health department in Rajasthan. Party leaders asked them to return their home and settle the dispute amicably.
“They were told that the party can’t intervene in the family matter and they should resolve the problem within the family because the party office is not the right place for such mediation. There were only a few leaders inside the party office when they came here,” said a senior party leader.
A close aide of Samari Lal said that a minor family issue was blown out of proportion.The first time MLA Samari Lal joined the BJP ahead of the Assembly election last year. Prior to this he had unsuccessfully contested election from Kanke assembly seat as from the JMM and RJD.
