A person impersonating as Deputy Commissioner of Kushinagar (UP) arrested along with his 14 men. He was allegedly trying to cheat none other than Bokaro Deputy Commissioner Uma Shankar Singh in his office on Saturday.
According to police, Pradeep Kumar Shrivastva, along with his associates, had come to Bokaro for acquiring land under Chandankiyari block in the name of ‘Reliance Power’. He arrived in the original DC’s office riding a SUV (Innova) with Ranchi registration no — JH 01 W 1521 and blue beacon light atop. “He introduced himself as Deputy Commissioner of Kushinagar of UP and said that he wants land under Chandankiyari block for Reliance Power,” said a police official.
While interacting with Shrivastva, Bokaro DC Singh suspected some foul play and enquired about his batch of the Civil Services Exam. Shrivastva replied that he had cleared the exam in the year 2009, which was incidentally also the batch of Uma Shankar Singh. This prompted the DC to inform the police and made the ‘DC’ arrested along with his 14 ‘staff’. Shrivastva is a resident of Gazipur UP while others of his associates belong to Ranchi and Bokaro, police said.
