Fair & lovely Foundation for the last one decade provided scholarships to over 1,000 young girls from challenging economic backgrounds, and helped them to pursue higher education. From this edition, the foundation has also extended scholarships in the areas of vocational training and start up business capital to inspire an attitude of self-independence amongst young women. Over a convocation ceremony held at Mumbai, Fair & lovely Foundation awarded scholarship to girls showcasing outstanding academic records, and awe-inspiring desire to be self-reliant.
The Fair & lovely Foundation felicitation ceremony was supported by renowned personalities from distinguished backgrounds, ones who have achieved great recognition in their given field. The ceremony saw presence of Actress lara Dutta, Padmashree lila Poonawalla and Singer Shibani Kashyap. Each of these renowned women shared their perspectives on girl’s education and importance of being self-sufficient, and narrated inspiring anecdotes from their lives.
