Amidst Coronavirus pandemic, a large number of people are still avoiding the use of face masks in the public place and can easily be found violating the social distancing norms.

To enforce ‘Mask-wearing’ and ‘social distancing’ strictly district administrative officials came out on the street, inspected many public places across the district.

Those found without a mask on their faces were caught by the team. Later the violators were left to go after a punishment of around 50 sit-ups with the last warning to use a mask and maintain social distancing norms. Over 125 people were punished and warned, not to recur in future across the district on Tuesday.

Following the directive of the Deputy Commissioner Bokaro, region-wise teams have been constituted to supervise, monitor and enforce the COVID-19 guidelines strictly in the district.

The administration also enforced a ‘no face mask, no services or goods’ rule for the buyers at shops or establishments.

Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Kumar said, each and every person is required to use a face mask to prevent the spread of COVID-19. “Officials have been directed to take necessary legal action while recovering the prescribed penalty amount against the violators who do not use masks and violating social distancing,” he added.

I have also asked officials to ensure that there is sanitiser at business establishments and customers wear face masks.

The shopkeepers or the owner of the establishments or authorities will have to make sure that customers wear face masks and practice physical distancing while purchasing or rushed-in there, he said.

Kumar directed the shop owners not to sell products to customers who do not follow norms.

The DC appealed, “It mandatory for every resident of the district, who is required to move out of the house, is required to wear a mask and comply with social distancing.”He said that if any person is found outside wearing masks and violating social distancing, then strict legal action will be taken against them. “If the mask is not available, self-made masks or towels and handkerchiefs can also be used,” added Kumar.

“All the office bearers and police officers of the district and the heads of all other public sector undertakings and private companies are requested to ensure strict compliance in their establishments as well as in their areas even at their own level,” said DC.

The police forces were also asked to apply masks while at work and follow the social distance.
