City-based voluntary organisation promoting eye donation Roshni is gearing up to launch its website to ensure easy eye donation pledge. The website is under trial and is expected to be launched in a week.
“It is our ambitious project and we are looking forward to it. The website is ready and we have to just check things. We’ll launch it soon,” said Roshni secretary Rajnish Kumar.
People wishing to pledge eye donation will no longer have to visit Roshni’s office at Jamshedpur Eye Hospital in Sakchi for filling forms. “They can pledge on the website. We’ll also issue an identity card through the net,”
Kumar said.
Its main purpose is just two fold spread awareness in society for cornea donation and its transplantation and help blind people of Jamshedpur to get ‘Roshni’ in their lives, by arranging eye donation and cornea transplantation under expert medical care.
To have specific identity the team decided to have a logo which could be quite visible, impacting and clear in its message. After several samples presented by different individuals and organisations, the Governing Council of Roshni in its meeting finalised the attached logo.
Roshni Jamshedpur in collaboration with Jamshedpur Eye Hospital will soon have an CME on Eye Donation to be addressed by Dr Samar Kumar Basak, President of Eye Bank Association of India and Director of Disha Eye Hospital, Barrcakpore. The CME will update all the do and donot of Eye Donation and will help both harvesting and transplantation easier and faster.
