A delegation of Eye Donation Awareness Club and Kashyap Memorial Eye Bank paid a courtesy call on Governor CP Radhakrishnan and a souvenir of the work done by the organization was also presented to him. The delegation invited the Governor to attend the “Blind Folded Run for Vision” to be organized on 14th September. The Governor was also given a T-shirt related to Eye Donation Mahadan to be used in Run for Vision.
The members of the organization informed the Governor that the organization is doing very good work in Jharkhand in the field of eye donation and eye transplantation. As many as 154 corneal transplants have been performed by Kashyap Memorial Eye Bank since 2022, 340 corneal transplants have been performed in the last 5 years. A total of 801 cornea transplants have been performed so far.
The delegation members said that the Governor has positively responded towards the invitation. Notably, Run for Vision is organised every year by EYE-DAC and Kashyap memorial Eye Bank, which is attended by then Governors and CMs. Former Governor and incumbent President of India, Droupadi Murmu had also participated in the event earlier.
