Seed & fertilizer shops in Daltonganj are under the scanner of the Palamu administration.
Sadar SDO Nancy Sahay along with circle officer S S Pandey raided a couple of seed & fertilizer shops here in Daltonganj late in the evening.
The SDO and her team found 'expired' pesticide and insecticide put on sale in the shops that the team raided. Unsuspecting farmers were being duped by this sale of expired pesticide and insecticide.
Nancy Sahay and her team found no maintenance of stock registers in the shops that her team raided.
Sources said stock registers are not updated only to dupe the government of its taxes.
Again stock bought from dubious means is sold surreptitiously when there is no stock register.
SS Pandey told The Pioneer Farmers are taken for a ride here. There is this thug business in pesticide and insecticide'.
Pandey said the team found a few shops running without licence.
Sources said a week ago district agricultural officer too had inspected these shops issuing them warning to update everything but in vain.
Sadar SDO and her team is initiating action against the errant seed & fertilizer shop owners.
