The CPI(Maoists) could not hold their exchange of fire with 209 CoBRA contingent at Dhooti Kudra jungle under latehar Chandwa police station as firing some stray shots ran away post mid-night.
Sources said exchange of fire occurred at 1 am in this jungle. The CoBRA team was on the move when the Maoists opened fire at it.
Sources said the Maoists were led by Ravindra Ganju.
DIG Police Palamu Saket K Singh confirming this exchange of fire said there is neither any injury nor any casualty on each of the two sides.
Praising 209 CoBRA DIG said the security forces are trying to smoke out the Moists even in the dead of night as this firing took place at 1 o' clock at night on Saturday June 4.
Sources said there was a tip off of the assemblage of the Maoists but before the security forces could zero in on them the Maoists at some far away place opened fire.
The fight capacity of the Maoists has considerably gone down as first the Maoists are now in smaller groups second there is the crisis of leadership with no one to guide them strategically how to take on the highly determined and experienced security forces here in this Palamu police range.
