Ex-minister Yogendra Sao and his supporters, who are presently behind the bars in JP Central Jail Hazaribagh, have informed the jail and district administration that they are going to start fast unto death agitation on Friday.

Yogendra Sao and his wife MlA Nirmala Devi, who is also in JP Central Jail, have claimed that they enjoy the support of more than 400 jail inmates and they all will sit on the hunger strike for fulfillment of their six demands.

The six demands of Sao couple include immediate action against the corrupt staff of JP Central Jail who use to take money from the friends and relatives of inmates when they come to meet them. As per their claim it can be established with the footage CCTVs installed on jail premises. Besides, they demanded better facilities inside the jail as per the manual, connection of cable TV for the entertainment of inmates, relaxation in the meeting time given to inmates with their friends and relatives etc.

Sao, Nirmala Devi and son Sumit Kumar are in JP central jail since October 2016. They have filed bail applications in lower court. Some applications have been rejected while some are going to be heard soon. As per the experts, they will have to stay in jail at least a fortnight more as chances of granting bail to them remain bleak.
