Former Agriculture Minister of Jharkhand Yogendra Sao has been found guilty by the local court that has sentenced him one year imprisonment. After the decision, the court granted bail to him. The verdict was given by Judicial Magistrate RP Mala in a case registered at Keredari PS in 2010.

Yogendra Sao and seven others were the named accused in the case connected with manhandling of the GM of NTPC Pakri Barwadih Coal Mines Project. The then GM of NTPC coal projects RK Singh had made a written complaint in Keredari Police Station against Sao and his companions.

Few months ago Sao was sentenced for two years by another court for demanding extortion from a factory owner after trial of the case registered in Giddi PS of Hazaribagh District. The latest decision has come in the case lodged on August 17, 2010 in Keredari PS. On that day Yogendra Sao and his men had manhandled GM NTPC in a public program.

At that time Yogendra Sao had said that he has punished the NTPC official because he and his subordinates are ignoring the local peoples' representative. It was in talks at that time that Sao has beaten GM because according to him the NTPC officials had not invited him in their office inauguration program.

After hearing the arguments of both sides the Judicial magistrate RP Mala found him guilty in the case. Yesterday in the second half the court released its final verdict. Seven other accused of this case were released as concrete evidence of their involvement was not established before the court.

Immediately after the decision of the court, the advocate of Sao filed the bail petition. The court granted bail to Sao after hearing the arguments. The court has given a time of one month to Sao to file appeal before the higher court to challenge the decision.
