National Convener of Muslim Rashtriya Manch and former Chairperson of State Minority Commission (SMC) Shahid Akhtar has rejected the post of member given in the newly formed committee. Writing a letter to Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Sunday, Akhtar expressed his gratitude for being nominated as a member of the State Minority Commission and stated that it will not be appropriate for him to work as a Member in the Commission where he had served as a Chairperson.
“Since, it has flawed my self esteem, I will not be able to contribute as a member of this committee,” stated Akhtar in his letter. Congratulating the committee members, Vice Chairpersons and the Chairperson, Akhtar stated that someone else may be nominated for the post.
Incidentally, Akhtar, as per the notification issued by the State Government dated April 14, 2017, has been nominated as a members in the 11 member State Minority Commission having three Deputy Chairpersons and seven members along with a Chairperson in it.
