Former Congress MlA from Daltonganj and Minister in the Hemant Soren Government has gone for God’s solace by organising ‘Rajasuya Yajna’; best known for lord Krishna making it for Pandvas in the Dwapar era.
The Congress leader, who lost to Alok Kumar Chaurasia in the last Assembly battle, would act as chairman of the yajna organising committee that would take place right at the heart of the constituency —Daltonganj.
“The Rajasuya Yajna would be organised from December 25 and continue till December 31 at Housing Colony ground in Daltonganj. We are organising preparatory meetings in all the districts of Jharkhand also would also go the neighbouring States like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh to inform more and more people about the Yajna. Such an event has not taken place in the history of modern India,” said Tripathi addressing a press conference on Sunday.
When asked about the relevance of organising the yajna, Tripathi said that in the times of kingdoms and monarchies it was the king who would hold the Rajasuya Yajna which was often an assertion of his supreme power and authority on the territory.
“As the monarchy has gone now, it is the common peoples who are the king in a democracy and it is theirs’ responsibility to held it. This Rajasuya Yajna is going to be organised by the people for the wellbeing of the state,” said the Congress leader hopping lakhs of people attending the event at Palamu.
Rajasuya yajna or sacrifice, performed for the welfare of the State by the ancient kings of India who considered themselves powerful enough to be an emperor. Only the king with sovereign power is allowed to do that.
It is pertinent to mention here that the former Daltonganj MlA is also engaged into a legal battle with the incumbent one and seeking for the latter’s disqualification from the Assembly allegedly for filing a false affidavit with the Election Commission.
