Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) on Thursday demanded from the State Government that the amount of Rs 113 crore fine imposed by National Green Tribunal (NBT) for not taking environment certificate for the construction of buildings like new High Court and the State Assembly should be paid by auctioning the property of the concerned contractor including the then Chief Minister, Chief Secretary, Officer and Secretaries of Building Department, Forest Department and Environment Department.

Addressing a press meet, JMM General Secretary and Spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya said that the double engine Government which claimed big achievement after the construction of the Assembly and High Court building but the reality is that the BJP's pride was hidden behind its construction. "In the last days of 2013, then Chief Minister, Hemant Soren laid the foundation stone for the Assembly building but the fanatic Raghubar Government again misled the public by laying the foundation stone of the building at the same place on June 12," he added.

Bhattacharya said that when the amount of the construction cost of the High Court building came up, the High Court itself questioned it. He said that the High Court said that this is wrong and after that the cost amount was changed but the construction work of the Assembly building continued because a whole syndicate was involved in this game of corruption.

"The syndicate included the contractor, the then officer and then Chief Minister cum Departmental Minister. Under the pressure of a Secretary of the department who later also became the Chief Secretary, all the construction works were being provided to the same contractor," he added.

The party Spokesperson said that within four years, only one structure was prepared at that place in a hurry. "Then it was said that on September, 12, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate it but then the main opposition party JMM opposed this because the Government neither made an environment and social impact assessment of the construction of the building, nor did it get a signal from the NGT. JMM distanced itself from the inaugural event," he added.

Bhattacharya said that his party even demanded from the PM that he should not attend the inaugural program. "This is because JMM did not want the PM sitting on the Constitutional post of the Country to lay the foundation stone of any wrongdoing.  Despite this, the PM inaugurated the building because everyone knows that the amount of loot of corruption gets directly to the BJP central leadership, he added.
