Ex- Bokaro MLA urges Railways to rehabilitate Vendors

Published on:

Former Bokaro MLA Biranchi Narayan met with the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Adra Division on Tuesday, demanding the organized rehabilitation of footpath vendors outside Bokaro Steel City railway station. These vendors, who had been operating since the station’s establishment in 1966, lost their shops in a devastating fire on the night of April 24.

Since the incident, the local railway administration has not allowed them to resume operations, putting their families in a livelihood crisis. Narayan submitted a memorandum and introduced a delegation of affected vendors to the DRM, stressing their vital role in serving railway passengers, especially students and job seekers from other districts who rely on these stalls for food and basic needs.

He appealed to the railways to adopt a humanitarian approach and take concrete steps to organize and reinstate these vendors in the interest of shopkeepers, passengers, and railway staff alike. BJP leaders Umesh Kumar, Amit Kumar, Vishwanath Singh, Nagendra Yadav, and Thakur Ji accompanied him.
