'Evidences destroyed in Mumbai flat'

Parents of late TV actress Pratyusha Banerjee have expressed concerns and alleged that evidences are being destroyed in the flat where their daughter was found dead under mysterious circumstances after it was opened by the Mumbai police two days back without their knowledge.

late actress’ father Shankar Banerjee (50) and mother Soma Banerjee (46). Her mother addressed the media at their flat in Sonari on Tuesday and said from their sources they came to know about the opening of the Mumbai flat.

“We are shocked and demand immediate attention. A close relative has informed us that the flat room was opened by the Bangurnagar police two days back.  The flat was sealed by the police after the April 1 incident for probe. We had demanded from the local police and even informed to the Mumbai commissioner Dattatray Padsalgikar that the house be opened in our presence as there can be crucial evidences in the case before we left Mumbai in May.

However, the flat was opened without our knowledge by the police and we fear that Rahul Raj (fiancée of Pratyusha who faces accusation of abetting her suicide) might try to tamper with the evidences,” said Shankar Banerjee who left for Mumbai.

The parents who have been constantly accusing that their daughter did not commit suicide but was murdered by Rahul Raj and have been demanding CBI probe alleged that several influential persons in Mumbai were helping Rahul Raj covertly in hushing up the case.

“The police have in their investigation report before the Mumbai High Court have expressed suspicion about Rahul Raj involvement in drug peddling  and we have a strong feeling that several influential persons are helping Rahul Raj and with the opening of the flat they might try to destroy valuable documents hinting at Rahul Raj involvement in the incident,” said Soma.

Incidentally, the parents had gone to meet Jharkhand Governor Droupadi Murmu and even met Union home minister Rajnath Singh to help them get justice.

“We met the Governor and she assured of all help in our fight. Unfortunately, we could not meet State Chief Minister Raghubar Das. However, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh gave a patient hearing to our plea at Delhi this month and assured to take up the issue with Maharashtra Government,” the parents said.
