Popular Nagpuri song ‘oo hamar poonam ree…’ when parodied as ‘oo hamar Guruji juda na hobo…’ it touched upon soul and heart of everyone, especially spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravishankar who preached unity in diversity and universal brotherhood in his maiden appearance in Ranchi on Friday evening at Morhabadi ground.

This prompted the Guru to reiterate the larger human values, ethics and life which is free from fear, hate, worry, envy and offence for a happier life. “Everyone has equal right over happiness and it is their birth right. We all have to remove these evils sitting inside. I have come here as Guru who wishes something in return as guru dakshina. I seek your difficulties, worry, envy and unhappiness to me on the occasion,” said Sri Sri with great round of applause from thousands present and listening.

He also touched upon troubled past of Jharkhand which, he said, has stabilised now and also laid the path for future. “I may have come to Jharkhand after long but my association with the State has never disconnected. Our life is full of difficulties like it has been for Jharkhand. But when we develop connect with our inner self and God, then this struggle converts into happiness,” said the spiritual Guru flanked by Chief Minister Raghubar Das.

Ravishankar, on the occasion, called upon the people to look beyond ‘roti-kapada-makan’ and focus on their spiritual and intellectual uplift.

“Only Government of the day is not going to bring wellness alone, rather it is the responsibility of the society to come together and work for it. At present moment, we have the biggest task our hand in the form of cleanliness and literacy. We all have to work together,” he added while posing a question to the audience whether the society as a whole has gone forward or backward over the period of time, to which many nodded in negative.

However, he also infused positivity, saying that there is no scope of negativity among masses. “We should develop a system and team of people who can resolve disputes of the people through counseling. We need such people right at panchayat level who can work without prejudice, who can work for connecting people. We have to transfer a society to our decedents that is free from fear, depression and worry,” said he.

Sri Sri also called upon youths of the State to work for environmental protection and also systemic learning of yoga for which qualified trainers are required in large numbers across the world. “The Prime Minister has stressed over that and now we are working for this through Quality Control of India. large number of youths from the State can also join this along with training in traditional medicine, Ayurveda etc. We would reserve seats in our institute for the students of Jharkhand,” said Ravishankar.

The Chief Minister while welcoming him on the land of Bhagwan Birsa recalled ‘teacher-pupil’ relationship and its bearing on the lives of generations. “Contribution of Guru is required for reinstating India as Vishwa Guru and Sri Sri would help us in that. I have come here to seek his

blessings which would help the State in scaling up its poverty and make it prosperous. I wish that a centre of Art of living come up at Ranchi. The Government is ready to provide land free of cost for that,” said the CM.
