Governor Droupadi Murmu appealed parents on Friday to let their wards move in the direction they wanted to go and become a facilitator of the talents they possessed.

Felicitating winners of On the Spot painting competition organised at Raj Bhawan by Jharkhand Child Welfare Council, she said that children depicted only their mind at canvas through painting and art, which could be used to understand feelings they were going through.

Addressing the participants and children there, Murmu said that every kid was born with a unique talent. “Everyone is a winner in itself. Every kid is a mine of possibilities which needs to be sharpened in order to get a developed and better citizen in future,” Murmu said. She also appreciated efforts made by the Council.

The Governor paid special attention to differently abled (Divyang) kids participating in competition. “These kids might not be as abled physically as others, but are competent enough mentally. They have achieved a lot in different fields,” she said.

Principal Secretary to Governor SK Satpathi, Vice-Chairperson of the Council Rooplekha Prasad, Jyoti Bajaj, Pooja Thakur, Pushpa Shuvalika, Ranjana Mallick, Poonam Anand and other members of the Council were also present at the occasion. Personnel, Administrative Reforms and Rajbhasha Principal Secretary Nidhi Khare also participated in the event by encouraging young minds when they were busy in painting.

Rooplekha Prasad said at the occasion that selected paintings will be sent to Child Welfare Council of India, where many children from Jharkhand have been awarded in past. “The Council in Jharkhand was always active in providing platforms of development to children. We also remain focused towards skill development of the children and providing them awareness towards cleanliness drive” she added.
