ESL Steel Limited, a Vedanta Group company, hosted an insightful industrial visit for MBA students from Vinoba Bhave College of Management, offering them a firsthand experience of modern steel manufacturing and workplace safety in a live industrial setting.
A delegation of 45 management students, accompanied by three faculty members, participated in the day-long visit at ESL’s Siyaljori-based integrated steel plant. The objective was to provide students with practical exposure that complements their classroom learning and equips them with a better understanding of real-time industrial operations.
The program commenced with a mandatory safety induction session and a security briefing video, underlining ESL’s strict adherence to occupational safety standards. Students were provided with full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) before being taken on a guided tour of key operational units such as the Bar Rod Mill and Wire Rod Mill.
Speaking on the occasion, Sanjay Kumar, Head – Stakeholder Management at ESL Steel Limited, said, “We believe in nurturing future talent by providing them with real-world exposure. These visits not only enhance learning but also inspire students to consider careers in core industries.”
The initiative reflects ESL’s commitment to bridging the academia-industry gap by fostering meaningful interactions with educational institutions. Such engagements are designed to prepare future professionals for the demands of the manufacturing and industrial sector.
