Chief Secretary Sajal Chakraverty on Thursday instructed all Deputy Commissioners to ensure distribution of ration cards to all beneficiaries by March, 2015. The instruction came on Thursday during a meeting with all the DCs through video conferencing. Chakraverty sought information about printing and distribution of ration cards in all districts.
CS directed them to ensure that applicants obtain their ration cards and to send a softcopy of the file to National Informatics Centre (NIC) to help in printing of ration cards for distribution among the beneficiaries. Chakraverty emphasised on taking precaution on duplication of cards meant to provide benefits through public distribution system.
Chakraverty said all IT departments in districts to furnish expenditure certificates for funds allotted for the printing of Unique Identification cards and also to expedite the installation of mobile towers.
