After setting up new traffic regulations, security has been enhanced at city’s landmark Jubilee Park. Moreover, new drop-gates and new parking spots have started functioning from today.
A senior official of civic amenities provider company Jusco said that two drop gates have been installed at both ends of the road with along with static security personnel. For the convenience of visitors free parking slots have been made near Tata Steel zoo and near Smriti Udyan. Anybody can park their vehicles at these parking slots and have to walk on the road to their desired place.
As per the decisions taken there will be no vehicle movement inside the iconic Jubilee Park on Sundays for convenience of visitors inside the park. Moreover, both the entry/ exit gates of the park will closed by 9.00 pm (Monday to Saturday) and no vehicular/ public movement will be allowed 8.00 pm onwards inside the park. No vehicles will also be allowed on the road passing through JN Tata Statue - Mughal Gardens - Children Park – Nicco Amusement Park at any time.
“We have also created two alleys near the drop gates on both ends so that visitors
can walk into the park with ease. Beautification work is also being carried out,” said the official.
With cases of young couples and miscreants entering and escaping on bikes through the slip road from the Marine Drive end, Jusco has erected nearly four-feet high iron structures with cement grouting.
Security has been enhanced and has been jumped four times at any particular time of day by Jusco inside the park. The existing road which links Sakchi with Circuit House, Northern Town and Sonari witnesses nearly 20,000 vehicles commuting to and from inside the park daily.
The management has also banned new booking of picnics spots for picnic and parties from December 1.
A gift to the citizens of Jamshedpur by Tata Steel on the occasion of its golden jubilee in 1958, the 237.75- acre jubilee perk, modelled after Brindavan Gardens in Mysore, is considered the green heart of the city. Its breathtakingly beautiful Mogul Garden with its coloured fountains attracts evening visitors by the hundreds. And the more naturally contoured lake area is a popular picnic spot.
