The inauguration ceremony of Energy Conservation Week, celebrated from December 14 to December 20 at Bokaro Steel Plant, was organized at the Human Resource Development Center of the Coke Oven and By-Product Plant. CGM (EMD) PK Baisakhia, CGM (CO & BPP) Rakesh Kumar, other senior officers and personnel were present during the function. The programme started with the Energy Pledge taken by all as a commitment to energy conservation. Santosh Kumar welcomed all the dignitaries. PK Baisakhia highlighted the importance of energy conservation in plant as well as in daily life and gave a message to focus on all possible areas of energy conservation. Rakesh Kumar also threw light on energy conservation and stressed on the need to use renewable sources of energy.
During the program a presentation was made by the team of EMD and Coke Oven on the current energy scenario of BSL and the steps taken by the various shops of the plant to reduce the energy consumption.
At the end of the programme, a quiz competition was organized for the officers and personnel and the winners were honored with token gifts by Chief General Manager (EMD) Baisakhia and CGM (CO & BPP) Rakesh Kumar. The vote of thanks was extended by Santosh Kumar at the end of the programme. During the Energy Conservation Week, awareness campaign will be conducted in various departments of BSL through workshops and quiz competitions.
