Employees observe two-day strike at IT office Bokaro

There was virtually no work at the Income Tax office here and it wore a deserted look on Thursday as employees went on a two-day strike called by the Confederation of Central Government Employees and Workers on Wednesday.

Highlighting the two-day strike, JP Choudhary, district president of the union, said employees were protesting to demand merger of DA, interim relief, civil servant status for Gramin Desk Sewak, including of GDS in seventh CPC, regularisation and revision of wages of casual labourers, withdraw of PFRDA Act, stop outsourcing, downsising, and privatisation, filling-up of all vacant posts with five promotions and to settle 15 point charter of demands. “We will be constrained to intensify our agitation and go for an indefinite strike by the end of February if our demands are not met at the earliest,” Choudhary added.
