Employees cease work after no arrests in Project Building shootout

The employees of Jharkhand Secretariat refused to work on Friday, as the 24-hour ultimatum they laid down for nabbing the culprits responsible for injuring Home Department Section Officer Manoj Kumar a day before, expired without any results.

Afterwards, a delegation of Jharkhand secretariat employees met with CM Raghubar Das, who assured them of fortifying the security measures in and around the building. Following this, the government employees resumed work

“Orders have been issued to reinforce security arrangements for the Secretariat and the nearby areas. Special bus service will be started for officials who have to work during the late hours or on holidays. Better work culture leads to better results which cements public’s faith in government bodies,” Das said while talking to the delegates.

He added, “The state government will not compromise on the honour and safety of its employees. The government officials should also try their best to meet the expectations of common public. Despite all adversities, the work of the government functionaries should be so exemplary that they feel that they have contributed to the well-being of the state and its denizens.”

Two bike ridden assailants fired at Kumar on Thursday near Dhurwa roundabout as he was on his way to his office in Project Building, injuring him in the stomach. He was rushed to HEC Hospital, then Medica Hospital for medical attention. He is out of danger.
