Chhotu Kumar Singh a private electricity mechanic slept with a desi pistol under his pillow only to be caught with the illicit weapon on Tuesday morning at Pagar Khurd village under Pipra Tarn police station in Palamu said sources.
Sources said a team of CRPF and JAP jawans led by Pipra Tarn police station officer in charge Syed Nishat Ahmad raided Chhotu’s house early Tuesday morning and found him well in sleep with a desi pistol beneath his pillow.
Security forces seized this pistol hidden beneath his pillow along with two live rounds of fire of 7.65 bore. Chhotu was speechless to explain as to how this pistol reached beneath his pillow.
OC Ahmad confirmed this seizure of pistol beneath the pillow of Chhotu K Singh. The police officer said Chhotu has had till this seizure no criminal history or any background but the seizure of a desi pistol with two rounds of live ammunition of 7.65 bore speaks loud for his criminal mental disposition.
Chhotu’s brother Dabloo Singh too was sleeping close to him in the next bed. Ahmad said Dabloo too was picked up for questioning. The two have been booked under Arms Act.
On being asked that illicit pistol and illicit cartridges were only found from beneath the pillow of Chhotu then why Dabloo his brother was picked up the police officer said , “ Under Arms Act there is a section which reads that a person found with illicit arms ammunition handler is presumed to be as guilty as the one who is in possession of illicit arms and ammunition since law believes the person is aware of this illicit possession and has not helped the police to discover this illicit possession.”
Police officer further said, “Our investigation is on as to from where Chhotu got this desi pistol and ammunition and what he had in his mind to do with it.”
Ahmad said, “Chhotu told us that one man gave this desi pistol to him which the man said he would take back from him but our security forces got him with the weapon and ammunition early Tuesday July 19 morning.”
