Under the chairmanship of District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Dr. Waghmare Prasad Krishna, a meeting related to the Special Brief Revision Program-2024 (SSR-2024) of the voter list was held in the Collectorate Hall on Thursday. Addressing the representatives of political parties and all Block Development Officers on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that this work is very important in view of the Lok Sabha elections in the coming year.
This program is being organized by the Election Commission to improve the voter list. All of you play your part in the success of this programme. In the meeting, mainly information about the work to be done under the said program was given by the Sub-Divisional Officer and the Deputy Election Officer. Under SSR-2024, training of all Electoral Registration Officers, all Assistant Electoral Registration Officers and all BLOs is being conducted from June 01, which will continue till July 20, 2023. From July 21 to August 21, 2023, BLOs will do door-to-door verification of voters.
During this, the work of adding new voters and deleting the names of the dead in the voter list, error correction will also be done. Re-arrangement of polling stations will be done from 22 August to 29 September 2023 where the number of voters is more than 1500. If the photo of the voter in the voter ID card is defective, then it will be replaced with a clean colored photo. From September 30 to October 16, 2023, the work of preparing formats 1 to 8 will be done. A consolidated draft roll will be prepared. The consolidated draft electoral roll will be published on 17 October 2023.
The claim / objection form can be filled by anyone from 17 October to 30 November 2023. Special camps will be organized for voters on two Saturdays and Sundays, in which the work of addition of new names, removal or correction of names of deceased or transferred persons will be done in the polling stations. Claims, objections will be disposed of by 26 December 2023. The final publication of the voter list will be done on January 05, 2024. Sub-Divisional Officers, Deputy Election Officers, all Block Development Officers, Zonal Officers, representatives of political parties were present in the meeting.
