The administration has advised Muslims in the steel city to offer prayers indoors for the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha festival.
"We have asked the community to offer Eid-ul-Adha namaz at their homes. We request our brothers to offer chasht namaz from their respective homes along with family members. We request you not to organise any Eid-ul-Adha namaz in your locality or open place as this is not permissible," said an official.
Eid-ul-Adha or Bakr Eid is expected to be observed on August 1, depending on the sighting of the moon, which is a prerequisite for the major religious event.
DC has ordered to representatives to ensure that safety is maintained for proper disposal of animal carcasses which would be sacrificed as part of rituals by Muslim devotees.
