Putting an end to all speculation, the Department of School Education and literacy on Friday sent the revised advertisement letter to Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) for recruitment of teachers at high school level. The JSSC will again seek applications from the aspirants very soon.
Notably, aspirants protested against the advertisement released earlier that made minimum 45 per cent marks in subsidiary papers mandatory beside the regular honours degree subject marks. It was one main eligibility criteria this year for qualifying the examination for teaching at high school level.
“We have sent the revised letter to JSSC and within a day or two the entire matter will be sorted out. Now according to the norms, 45 per cent marks in two subsidiary papers have been removed and other essential changes like subject combinations etc have been done,” said, Secretary, Department of School Education and literacy, Aradhana Patnaik.
According to the advertisement released by the State Government 17,752 teachers will be recruited this year at high school level. Through Jharkhand SSC, eligible candidate will be selected. Recently, few aspirants protested against the advertisement at RU administrative block and Governor House asking VC, Ramesh Kumar Pandey and other officials to intervene in the subsidiary papers percentage matter that was creating hurdle for large number of aspirants who intends to join service as high school teachers in government cradles.
All the aspirants since long have been demanding change in the rules made recently on recruitment of high school teachers by the State government and have unanimously added that the State government is making such norms intentionally to provide opportunity to the students of outside regions.
The university as well had cleared the stance on the entire matter on December 4, stating that Ranchi University (RU) curriculum has different combination for different subjects and history honours students have choice to opt for other optional humanities subjects other than political science as per the university norms and so on. The university release further stated that university has kept 33 marks minimum for clearing the subsidiary papers in all the streams.
The State Government has made several announcement including recruitment of teachers in Schools by this year. Teachers’ recruitment also finds one of the top spots of CM Raghubar Das’ agenda, besides recruitment in police and other government services. The Government has also aimed to complete the process of recruitment in few months time.
