EDC imposes nominal fee for Sugga bandh in PTR

Published on:

The eco development committee (EDC)  has imposed a nominal fee for car parking at the Sugga babdh under the Bareysanr  range of the tiger reserve Palamu.

Secretary of the eco development committee Paramjeet Tiwary who is a highly dedicated forest guard in the PTR said "The parking fee is very nominal. It's 10 rupees for two wheeler and 20 rupees beyond the two wheels."

Children below 10 years of age have free access to the Sugga bandh with their families while members above 10 years are to pay 10 rupees per head.

Paramjeet Tiwary said on an average 15 to 20 vehicles come to Sugga bandh every day.

He said under orders of the higher officials of the PTR use of alcohol is banned but local guys just follow it in exception.

He said the eco development committee members have always had a tough time in taming such people who are hell bent on taking wine here.

He said we are creating awareness about how to keep scenic and tourist spots free of these evils as it brings bad name to the scenic spots.

Red warning for safety and not to throw leftovers have been duly imprinted on the rocks asking tourists not to drop guard as the accident is not very far off said Paramjeet Tiwary.

He said we advise tourists to enjoy water falls from a safe distance as there is no point in losing life for momentary enjoyment.
