ED issues lookout notice against Nandi in realty scam

Enforcement Directorate (ED) investigating real estate scam of Sanjivani Buildcon Pvt Ltd worth over Rs 100 crore has issued a lookout notice against mastermind of the scam Jayant Dayal Nandi who has been absconding right from 2012 when the scam was exposed.

ED is the second premier agency of the country which is in the lookout of Nandi who perpetrated mega realty scam along with his beautiful wives Anamika Nandi and Anita Nandi and associates. They cheated gullible investors with their hard earned money by promising them houses and land.

ED sources said that all airports, seaports and possible immigration checks have been alerted so that Nandy is arrested in case he tries to flee away the country.

In 2014, Interpol on request of the CBI had issued a red corner notice against Nandi and his business partner Prakash Prasad Lala.  Red corner notice is equivalent to an international arrest warrant,

But neither the CBI nor the ED has any pinpoint information regarding the whereabouts of Nandi. Both the agencies have only vague and unverified information that Nandi fled away from the country months after the scam surfaced. Investigative agencies largely believe that Nandi may be holed-up in Malaysia and he may be operating through the hawala channel.

In 2017 the CBI had stumbled upon some suspicious satellite and internet phone calls made by Nandi to contact his aides and aggrieved parties. In one conversation, he was talking to his men how they could approach the Supreme Court to file bail applications for his wives. But these technical inputs were insufficient to locate him.

ED which has expedited investigation by seizing properties under provisions of Prevention of Money Laundering Act and making a number of arrests; has detected a large number of immovable and movable assets raised by the accused across the country.

Nandi had incorporated this company in July 2008 and made Ranchi as headquarter and operational area also. It operated till mid of 2012. Investigation has disclosed that Nandi and his partners hugely funded in crores for advertisements to allure prospective buyers.
