AK Mittal, General Manager of the East-Central Railways Hajipur zone conducted a surprise check at Daltonganj railway station, railway sources informed here. The GM’s saloon tipped off from Kajri railway station about Mittal reaching Daltonganj railway station. Railway sources said officials at the Daltonganj railway station swung into hyper activity.
The GM spent 44 minutes here who came early in the day.The TI railways A K Sinha confirming the surprise inspection by GM said the GM has asked for setting up one other foot over bridge at this station. There is already one existing. But with the rush of the users the need for second foot over bridgehas arisen. It is to be completed.
The GM wanted to know about the amenities to be further stepped up for the passengers. The Daltonganj railway station needs more powerful lighting. Further there is no coach display board since two years.
Absence of coach display board causes immense hardships to the passengers here. They are to run to board in their reserved coaches.Again the platform number 2 is a bit smaller to accommodate 17 or 18 bogie as a result the passengers are to alight right on the grass.
Further there are some railway stations here where loot of ticket cash is done by the miscreants. last year Kosiyara railway station was looted thrice by the miscreants wherein amount between rupees 3,000 to 4,000 have been looted. The GM’s visit took the railway personnel almost off guard.
