The Bisunpura police today stopped economist Jean Dreze meeting in Bishunpura. They are accused of meeting there without prior permission. In this regard, SDO Kamleshwar Narayan told that Vivek Gupta of Dehan Group had applied for permission to hold meetings with subjects like ration and pension etc. in Bishunpura. In view of the model code of conduct, he asked report from CO Bishunpura and police station in-charge. The meeting was not allowed because CO and officer in charge did not mention the speaker's name in the report.
Today, in Bishunpura a meeting was being held without permission, to the Dahan Group. Jean Dreze came as the main speaker in the meeting. Without holding permission, it has been stopped. Police briefly took Jean Dreze and organizer of the meeting to Bishunpura police station for security reasons. All people were released after the process, he said.
