EC principal secretary reviews roll revision process

Principal Secretary of the Election Commission of India, R K Srivastava on Friday reviewed the process of revision of electoral rolls here and discussed the  issue of large scale omission of names (around 89 thousand in the Jamshedpur lok Sabha constituency alone) during the process. 

Sub Divisional Officer (SDO) Subodh Kumar said that Srivastava and two other officials of the commission also visited various areas in the city including Mango, Sonari and Ramnagar to listen to the grievances of the voters if any.

later, talking to the newsmen, Srivastava said, ‘the matter of the omission would certainly be enquired and the correction would be done. The local authorities responsible for this would do it. n today’s meeting, presentations were also made on voter classifications and roll upgradation revision carried out by the administrative officials.  

He advised the officials to take steps and to prepare for an  error-free voters list and also to complete the inclusion and deletion of voters within the stipulated time.
