In order to speed up commercial income and non-fare revenue contracts from various sources, the new process of e-auction is being promoted by replacing the old process of tender. Under this process, parcel leasing, parking, pay and use toilets, advertisement and installation of ATMs in the station have been selected, the allocation of which has been started with the new process of e-auction.
Initially, as a pilot project by the Ministry of Railways, this scheme was started in 11 divisions of Indian Railways in April 2022 and based on the experience of those divisions, instructions have been given to start this scheme from June 2022 in the entire Indian Railways. The new process of e-auction is flexible, easier and faster than tender, which facilitates both the interested individuals/firms along with the Railways.
To participate in the process of e-auction, the person/firm has to be registered on the website of Indian Railways. The registration fee is Rs 10,000 only. To participate in the e-auction, the necessary information is loaded in the auction catalog at least 15 days in advance, so that the interested people / firms can participate in the auction understandingly. The decision is made on the day of the auction itself.
In East Central Railway, the process of e-auction for commercial income and non-fare revenue contracts from various sources was started in July 2022 and till 01.08.2022 a total of 41 e-auction contracts have been finalized and many are under process of East Central Railway. Various assets have been created by all the divisions for this process, which is to be contracted through e-auction from the website, and interested people can participate in it promptly and join the Indian Railways and enter into a contract.
