Chandrashekhar Dubey taking a brazen political summersault made his entry back into his parent party Congress after his brief stay into the TMC. Dadai Dubey, how he is popular among his followers, made an appearance on Wednesday before Congress national president Sonia Gandhi in Delhi in a bid for his re-entry.
Talking to the media persons after the brief consultation, Dubey said that the “rough period” was just an aberration. “I had never gone away from the Congress. I am in the party from the times of Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi. There was brief spell when some confusion arose but now everything is clear. I am a loyal sepoy of the Congress party and work for its betterment as polls are so near,” said the former Bishrampur MlA who said Sonia’s gesture towards him was excellent and he was overwhelmed.
The octogenarian leader had quit the Congress citing serious differences with party high command and State leadership ahead of lok Sabha polls and resigned from the Hemant Soren Cabinet. He got ticket from the TMC to contest from Dhanbad but managed least number of votes of his career.
However, he was looking for a shelter after the drubbing, especially for his son Ajay Dubey. Inputs coming suggest that he had also knocked the doors of the BJP before lying before the Congress. Though, it is yet to be seen how he would be received in the State politics of the party which already has several fronts.
