There has been a drastic fall in footfall of morning walkers at Randhir Verma Stadium ( RVS) since the Dhanbad Municipal Corporation (DMC) imposed an entry fee for the same.
The regular ones now prefer to walk on the road along with the stadium while some have chosen the small grounds outside their houses in different areas near the stadium .
On usual days around a thousand people including persons both men and women enjoyed walking while aspirants of different competitions did practice along with students who used to come out for play.
Though DMC decided to lower the monthly pass from Rs 300 to 100 per month under public pressure , only 98 persons purchased a monthly pass in the last four days .
DMC municipal commissioner Satyendra Kumar refused to reduce the daily Rs 15 per person entry pass besides issuance of monthly pass stating that such charges were required to maintain the RVS newly built open jim and walking track and to meet power bill.
However , this pass too is being issued against production of Aadhar card of a person willing to avail the monthly pass facility for enjoying fresh morning air .
One of the aspirants practicing for army recruitment Sohan Kumar said that it's like pickpocketing from the unemployed who used to practice for recruitments.
